About MaryLand

Established in 2021, MaryLand…a Haven for Horses is a non-profit retirement sanctuary for Standardbred racehorses located on a 15-acre farm in LeRoy, NY.

Mission

It is MaryLand’s mission to provide a safe and dignified retirement for Standardbred racehorses that can no longer race.

Vision

In service of our mission, it is our vision to offer professional horse care to retired Standardbred racehorses in a nurturing environment. MaryLand is dedicated to providing a positive environment in which they can live out their natural lives and is committed to educating the public about Standardbred racing and the proper responsibilities of horse ownership.

MaryLand does not retrain or adopt out; once a horse is accepted it lives out its life freely on the sanctuary grounds.
